Pick your game and stick with it
It was an up-and-down Super Wild Card Weekend for me in DFS.
I cashed easily in the Saturday 2-game slate with 133.7 points as Ja’Marr Chase’s 25.9 points led the way in the Cincinnati’s 26-19 win against Las Vegas.
Sunday was a completely different story.
I finished with a dismal 115.14 points, falling short by less than 3 points in my cash tournaments.
I should have stacked Tom Brady, Giovanni Bernard, Mike Evans and Rob Gronkowski, but I only used Gronk from the first game of the Sunday slate.
Dak Prescott rebounded nicely in the second half in the Cowboys’ loss to San Francisco and Travis Kelce had a big game in the nightcap, but it was CeeDee Lamb and Darrel Williams who doomed my Sunday cash lineup.
For some reason, the Cowboys refused to get their best WR involved in the offense. Lamb finished with only 5 targets and 1 reception for 21 yards late in the game.
Williams touched the ball once and fumbled and didn’t see the field for most of the game.
Oh well, at least we still have two more weekends to make some cash.
Onto the players!
Saturday Games
Cincinnati at Tennessee (Titans -4, 47.5): Game-time weather: 33 and clear; wind – WSW 4 mph
San Francisco at Green Bay (Packers -5.5, 47.5): Game-time weather: 10 and mostly cloudy; wind – W 10 mph
Quarterback
Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee ($5,800): I fully expect this game to be a shootout, and I want to get all Titans possible TD scorers in my lineup. Tannehill runs for one TD and passes for two more.
Running Back
Derrick Henry, Tennessee ($7,500): I think Henry will play a role in this game, but don’t be surprised if he has less than 10 DraftKings points going into the fourth quarter where he’s explodes.
Wide Receiver
Davante Adams, Green Bay ($8,500): Unlike Dallas last week not using their top WR, the Packers will use their play-making WR early and often to build a lead. Eight catches, 100 yards and a touchdown sounds about right.
Tight End
C.J. Uzomah, Cincinnati ($3,400): I’m going the cheap route for TE for the Saturday slate. Plus, Uzomah saw an 18 percent target share in last week’s win vs. the Raiders and has seen six or more targets in five of his last six games.
Sunday Games
LA Rams at Tampa Bay (Buccaneers -3, 48): Game-time weather: 58 and partly cloudy; wind – NW 9 mph
Buffalo at Kansas City (Chiefs -1.5, 54): Game-time weather: 37 and clear; wind – NNE 3 mph
Quarterback
Patrick Mahomes II, Kansas City ($7,300): The last time the Bills and the Chiefs played, Kansas City was in the middle of an identity crisis and fell to a 2-3 start. But the Chiefs have righted the ship, especially down the stretch. Mahomes has scored 20-plus DK points in every week since Week 14.
Running Back
Cam Akers, LA Rams ($5,500): The Rams would not have rushed Akers back to just sit him on the bench, evident by last week’s workload. He will be again the focal point of the offense in order to pull an upset.
Wide Receiver
Stefon Diggs, Buffalo ($6,500): Diggs has scored less than 10 DK points every game this season, except for two – last week’s blowout win vs. New England and the win vs. the Chiefs. I think he’s more involved in this matchup.
Tight End
Travis Kelce, Kansas City ($6,500): Kelce has seen 32 targets for the Chiefs during last two years vs. the Bills (three games). He has produced more than 17.7 or more DK points in each of those three matchups.
Last Week’s DK by the Numbers
QB: Derek Carr 19.4, Dak Prescott 21.6.
RB: Joe Mixon 11.6, Darrel Williams -0.6.
WR: Ja’Marr Chase 25.9, CeeDee Lamb 3.6.
TE: Darren Waller 14.6, Rob Gronkowski 14.1.
