DFS Super Wild Card Weekend

Focusing on the Saturday and Sunday main slates

That was an awful way to end the season.

I finished with only 88.7 points which was in the back half my cash games to end the year on a three-week losing streak. If you feel the need to fade, I understand completely.

Even my Sneaky Stacks toppled over with my best line with Josh Allen-Devin Singletary-Stefon Diggs only mustering 136.66 points.

But the regular season is over, and now it’s playoff time!

I’m going to give my DraftKings Cash cores for the two-game slate on Saturday and the three-game slate on Sunday.

Onto the players!

Saturday

Las Vegas at Cincinnati (Bengals -5.5, 48.5 over/under): Game-time weather: 33 and mostly cloudy

New England at Buffalo (Bills -4.5, 44): Game-time weather: 4 and partly cloudy

Quarterback

Derek Carr, Las Vegas ($5,800): Joe Burrow may be the safer play, but I think the Raiders will keep it closer than the teams’ first matchup, won by the Bengals, 32-13, in Week 11. Carr has only averaged 12.52 points in his last five games, but I think Vegas will need a comeback, with Carr passing a lot, to advance.

Running Back

Joe Mixon, Cincinnati ($7,100): Mixon is the most expensive back for the Saturday slate, but he is well worth the play. He had a big game in the first matchup, finishing with 27.3 DraftKings points, and had seen 14 targets in his last two games played.

Wide Receiver

Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati ($7,800): I know most will say I need to have Burrow in my lineup if I’m playing Chase, but the guys on the Fantasy Football Today DFS podcast made a good point this week – if Burrow is being successful, then Chase is more than likely having a good game as well.

Tight End

Darren Waller, Las Vegas ($5,700): Waller is another contrarian play, but he has had a week to shake off the rust. We may not see Waller at his price if the Raiders advance. Take advantage while you can!

Sunday

Philadelphia at Tampa Bay (Buccaneers -8.5, 45.5): Game-time weather: 63 and rain

San Francisco at Dallas (Cowboys -3, 51): Game-time weather: Dome

Pittsburgh at Kansas City (Chiefs -12.5, 46.5): Game-time weather: 33 and clear

Quarterback

Dak Prescott, Dallas ($6,700): With the Cowboys running game not in prime form, Dak will have to carry the offense with his arm and legs. The high game total and the 3-point spread should keep the Cowboys from being too conservative on offense.

Running back

Darrel Williams, Kansas City ($5,200): With Clyde Edwards-Helaire already declared out, Williams is a must play. He’s the Chiefs regular goal-line back and if the Steelers were to keep it close, Williams is a better receiver than Derrick Gore.

Wide Receiver

CeeDee Lamb, Dallas ($6,300): I know Lamb has been quiet down the stretch, but the one thing NFL teams do well in the playoffs is get their top players involved early and often. Lamb had 5 catches for 85 yards last year vs. the 49ers.

Tight End

Rob Gronkowski, Tampa Bay ($6,400): You can pick your poison between Gronk and Travis Kelce at TE, and I think both will be good plays. However, Gronk is $300 cheaper, and the Eagles have given up the second most fantasy points to TEs this season.

Last Week’s DK by the Numbers

Cash Core: Kyler Murray 17.1, Jonathan Taylor 12.5, Stefon Diggs 23.1, Zach Ertz 15.4.

QB: Murray 17.1, Tyler Huntley 9.84, Davis Mills 30.24

RB: Jonathan Taylor 12.5, Rhamondre Stevenson 4.6, D’Onta Foreman 9.4, Devonta Freeman 4.7, Patrick Taylor 13.6.

WR: Stefon Diggs 23.1, Odell Beckham Jr. 3.8, Marquez Callaway 0, Rashod Bateman 4.2, Cyril Grayson 0, Antoine Wesley 3.7, Ray-Ray McCloud 7.7.

TE: Zach Ertz 15.4, Pat Freiermuth 11.3, John Bates 1.5.
