DFS Week 13

Even if the process is correct, the result can be lackluster

There has been so many peaks and valleys this year in DFS.

I soar to great day on Thanksgiving, but struggle to break a 100 (99.12) on the Sunday slate with my cash lineup. I can take a little solace that the bottom of the cash lines ranged from 102-111 points for Sunday. The process was there but the results fell just short.

I’m keeping the intro short so I can get into this week’s players pool.

I will be providing my main cash and GPP lineups (after early game inactives are announced) on my Patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/fantasyfbguru

Onto the players!

Quarterback

Top Play

Tom Brady, Tampa Bay ($7,200): The numbers Brady has put up as a Buccaneer vs. Atlanta would make most Madden players jealous (three games -- 355 yards passing and 3.7 TD passes).

Sneaky QBs

Kirk Cousins, Minnesota ($6,500)

Taylor Heinicke, Washington ($5,600)

Tua Tagovailoa, Miami ($5,500)

Cousins excels against press man defense and has accounted for 8 TDs in his last three games vs. the Lions. Heinicke has thrown a TD pass in six straight games, and the Raiders have given up 308 yards passing in their last three games. For Tua, the Giants defense can be a challenge but DeVante Parker should return to help Mike Gesicki in the receiving corps.

Running Back

Top Play

Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis ($9,200): He’s the most expensive player on the Sunday slate, and it’s hard to fade him. Plus he’s playing the Texans’ 31st-ranked run defense.

Value Plays

James Conner, Arizona ($5,900)

Antonio Gibson, Washington ($5,700)

Jamaal Williams, Detroit ($5,400)

Conner is one of the top rushing TD leaders in the league and still has the Zona backfield to himself. Thanks to the Monday game, Gibson price is way underpriced. Williams should get most of the RB touches for the Lions backfield.

Cheap Plays

Sony Michel, LA Rams ($4,300): If Darrell Henderson Jr. is ruled out, Michel is a smash play for your late afternoon lineups.

Wide Receiver

Top Play

Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay ($6,600): You will see a theme here with my top plays, and it involves the Bucs. I don’t expect Leonard Fournette to the carry the offense again.

Value Plays

Hunter Renfrow, Las Vegas ($5,800)

Brandon Aiyuk, San Francisco ($5,500)

Renfrow has seen six or more targets in every game except two and had his biggest yardage game of the season last week. Aiyuk is the WR1 in the 49ers offense with Deebo Samuel injured.

Cheap Plays

DeVante Parker, Miami ($3,900)

Andre Carter, Washington ($3,600)

Josh Reynolds, Detroit ($3,400)

Parker gives you a nice floor if his numbers return to his early season production. Carter has been producing and was still involved last week when Curtis Samuel returned. Reynolds has led the Lions in air yards the last two weeks and has a connection with Jared Goff.

Tight End

Top Play

Rob Gronkowski, Tampa Bay ($5,300): If his salary was similar to last week’s, I would be stacking him with Brady and Godwin in my cash lineup, but his salary is a limitation in cash with so many values at TE.

Value Plays

Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh ($4,200)

Logan Thomas, Washington ($4,000)

Freiermuth continues to be a red zone target for the Steelers and has cleared concussion protocols, while Thomas should be closer to full health with one game under his belt after an IR stint.

Cheap Plays

Jack Doyle, Indianapolis ($3,300)

Foster Moreau, Las Vegas ($2,700)

James O’Shaughnessy, Jacksonville ($2,600)

Doyle has seen 5, 5 and 7 targets in last three games and has 12 receptions and a TD. Moreau will be the most rostered played tomorrow on DraftKings. O’Shaughnessy saw five targets after Dan Arnold’s injury last week.

DraftKings Cash Core

Tom Brady, Jonathan Taylor, Chris Godwin, Foster Moreau

Sneaky Stacks

Lamar Jackson, Marquise Brown, Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool

Kirk Cousins, Justin Jefferson, Josh Reynolds

Joe Burrow, Austin Ekeler, Ja’Marr Chase

Last Week’s DK by the Numbers

Cash Core: Ben Roethlisberger 11.52, Christian McCaffrey 3.5, Diontae Johnson 18.5, Tyler Conklin 4.5

QB: Tom Brady 12.24, Jimmy Garoppolo 12.2, Cam Newton 8.18, Ben Roethlisberger 11.52

RB: Christian McCaffrey 3.5, Jeff Wilson Jr. 1.7, Miles Sanders 7.4, Dontrell Hilliard 22.30

WR: Justin Jefferson 13.26, Michael Pittman Jr. 9.3, Brandon Aiyuk 12.5, Dez Fitzpatrick 24

TE: George Kittle 2.3, Rob Gronkowski 22.3, Pat Freiermuth 14.3, Tyler Conklin 4.5
