I may be a glutton for punishment going back to Big Ben
Oh this filthy animal that we call daily fantasy sports!
It’s frustrating and fun all at the same time, but it is a big downer on a day where my cash line just missed making the money.
My cash lineup finished with 128.42 points and missed seeing the green bar by 2 points or less. My downfall was taking the wrong Detroit running back.
Practice squad call up Craig Reynolds led the Lions’ backfield with 11.9 points, while Godwin Igwebuike finished with 1.5 points. However, the running back I played was Jemar Jefferson who put up a big fat ZERO!
Process was there again, but the right result evaded me. Ugh this filthy animal!
I will be providing my main cash and GPP lineups (after early game inactives are announced) on my Patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/fantasyfbguru
Quarterback
Top Play
Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh ($5,600): I know he may have cost me cashing a couple of weeks ago, but I can’t see him coming off the field unless he’s injured in a must-win game for the Steelers.
Sneaky QBs
Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville ($5,100): With Urban Meyer finally out of town, may be this offense will open up and let Trevor loose.
Running back
Top Play
James Robinson, Jacksonville ($5,400): For the same reasoning with Lawrence, let your best players play! Plus Houston gives up the 5th most fantasy points to RBs.
Value Plays
Melvin Gordon III, Denver ($5,900)
Myles Gaskin, Miami ($5,600)
D’Onta Foreman, Tennessee ($5,200)
Both Denver RBs are in play if they are on the active list, but Gordon III is the cheaper. Gaskins should have plenty of chances vs. the weak Jets’ D. Foreman faces a Steelers’ run defense was slashed for more than 150 yards by Dalvin Cook last week.
Cheap Plays
Michael Carter, NY Jets ($4,700)
Craig Reynolds, Detroit ($4,300)
Carter is expected to play a big role in the Jets offense since coming off the IR this week. I would expect Reynolds is the starter but who the hell knows!
Wide Receiver
Top Play
Davante Adams, Green Bay ($8,900): The Packers are still in the hunt for the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and the passing game goes through Adams.
Value Plays
Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit ($5,200): Brown has seen 24 targets the last two games, and TE T.J. Hockenson is out for the year.
Cheap Plays
A.J. Green, Arizona ($4,900)
Marvin Jones Jr., Detroit ($4,600)
DeVante Parker, Miami ($4,300)
Allen Lazard, Green Bay ($4,000)
Gabriel Davis, Buffalo ($3,700)
Green and Jones Jr. should be their teams’ top targets, while Parker gets a favorable matchup and the Dolphins are missing target-hog Jaylen Waddle. Lazard and Davis are the beneficiaries of injuries in potent offenses.
Tight End
Top Play
Mike Gesicki, Miami ($5,000): Gesicki may be the top beneficiary with Waddle’s absence. He will be my cash game TE. I will be paying up this week with the rest of my TE plays.
