{{UPDATED 12-25-21 2 P.M.}}
Plenty of value on this week's main slate
In Week 15, my cash lineup was basically a dud, but one of my GPP stacks helped me to take down the weekly Warrior Bowl 25-man GPP.
It was a tough go in cash as I was only able to cash in my $5 tournament with a total of 117.22. I lost in the $1, $2 and $10 fields by 10 points or less.
My GPP stack of Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams and Allen Lazard allowed me to come back with Mark Andrews at my TE and Gabriel Davis at the third WR to help me finish with 158.42 points to earn the win in the Warrior Bowl contest
For the second straight week, it’s been my main GPP stack as my best play.
As a Christmas gift, anyone who follows my blog will receive my cash lineup tomorrow morning.
Onto this week’s players!
Quarterback
Top Play
Matthew Stafford, LA Rams ($6,700): The LA Rams-Minnesota game has the highest total of the week and it should be competitive as the Rams are only a 3-point favorite.
Sneaky QBs
Joe Burrow, Cincinnati ($5,900)
Burrow lit up the Ravens for 30.6 points in the first matchup, and Baltimore continues to have health issues on the defensive side of the ball.
Running back
Top Play
Alexander Mattison, Minnesota ($6,800): You may see a theme from this game. Pick the right players for a strong core for a possible GPP takedown.
Value Plays
James Robinson, Jacksonville ($5,900)
David Montgomery, Chicago ($5,700)
Miles Sanders, Philadelphia ($5,600)
Ronald Jones II, Tampa Bay ($5,100)
Robinson would be a cash play for me if the Jaguars-Jets over/under was higher than 41.5 points. Montgomery has been a workhorse running the ball and in the passing game for the Bears recently. Sanders is coming off his second straight 120-plus yards rushing game. Jones II steps into a productive role for the Bucs.
Cheap Plays
Justin Jackson, LA Chargers ($4,200): It looks like Austin Ekeler is not going to make it back from the covid list in time, and Jackson gets to face the Texans who give up the 6th most fantasy points to RB this season.
Wide Receiver
Top Play
Cooper Kupp, LA Rams ($9,100): In a game with a high total and close spread, Kupp should easily reach his 28.4 points he averages on DraftKings.
Value Plays
Russell Gage, Atlanta ($5,900)
Van Jefferson Jr., LA Rams ($5,500)
O’Dell Beckham Jr., LA Rams ($5,300)
Gage should continue to produce against the Detroit defensive backfield, while Jefferson and Beckham Jr. could have big numbers alongside Kupp.
Cheap Plays
Antonio Brown, Tampa Bay ($4,900)
Tyler Johnson, Tampa Bay ($3,900)
Scotty Miller, Tampa Bay ($3,600)
Mecole Hardman, Kansas City ($3,500)
Byron Pringle, Kansas City ($3,300)
Brown should lead the new-look Tampa WR corps, but Johnson or Miller could also have a big game. If Tyreek Hill misses because of covid, Hardman and Pringle do not need much in points to reach their values.
Tight End
Top Play
Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia ($5,100): Goedert has hauled in 13 passes on 15 targets in his last two games, finishing with 105 and 135 yards receiving.
Cheap Plays
Cole Kmet, Chicago ($3,300)
James Shaughnessy, Jacksonville ($3,200)
Zach Gentry, Pittsburgh ($2,800)
Noah Gray, Kansas City ($2,500)
Kmet has seen 32 targets in his last four games, while the Jaguars continue to feature the TE in their offense. Gentry gets the start for the Steelers who use their TEs in the red zone, while Gray will probably get the start if Travis Kelce doesn’t come back from the covid list.
DraftKings Cash Core
Matthew Stafford, Cordarrelle Patterson, Cooper Kupp, Cole Kmet
Sneaky GPP Stacks
Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, Mark Andrews
Matt Ryan, Cordarrelle Patterson, Russel Gage, (D’Andre Swift or Jamaal Williams if active)
Last Week’s DK by the Numbers
Cash Core: Ben Roethlisberger 11.92, James Robinson 17.8, Diontae Johnson 9.8, Mike Gesicki 9.3 QB: Ben Roethlisberger 11.92, Trevor Lawrence 10.5.
RB: James Robinson 17.8, Melvin Gordon III 7.1, Myles Gaskin 5.4, D’Onta Foreman 18.5, Michael Carter 3.0, Craig Reynolds 15.7.
WR: Davante Adams 16.4, Amon-Ra St. Brown 23.5, A.J. Green 10.4, Marvin Jones Jr. 3.4, DeVante Parker 16.8, Allen Lazard 4.8, Gabriel Davis 25.5.
TE: Mike Gesicki 9.3.
