DFS Week 4

Buffalo-Baltimore matchup has shootout potential

That is how you bounce back in NFL DFS!

After my cash lineup struggled in Week 2, it crushed in Week 3 with top 2 percent finishes in all my cash tournaments and helped bring home a third in a $3 Hundo.

I finished with 150.66 points led by one of my cash core picks in Jalen Hurts, who scored 30.6 points. But it was Mack Hollins’ huge game of 32.96 points that really put me over the top.

Now if Cooper Kupp (16.4 points) would have come close to his season average of more than 30 points, this lineup would have been extraordinary.

Well enough about last week, let’s get into this week’s top plays!

(All player pricing is based on DraftKings.)

Quarterback

Top Play

Josh Allen, Buffalo ($8,400): Allen is the next man up vs. Baltimore injury-riddle secondary. Plus, Allen has scored 30-plus DK points in all three games this season.

Other QBs

Lamar Jackson, Baltimore ($8,300)

Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia ($8,200)

Marcus Mariota, Atlanta ($5,600)

Jackson has being putting up Madden-type numbers and a shootout is possible vs. Allen. Hurts’ development has jumped off the charts this season with back-to-back 300-yard passing games. Mariota gives you a nice floor with his rushing upside, and Browns have given up 15 or more DK points a game this season to QBs.

Running back

Top Play

Jamaal Williams, Detroit ($6,100): Williams has averaged 15.9 DraftKings points in a secondary role and gets to be the lead RB with D’Andre Swift out. The Seahawks are ranked in the bottom 10 vs. RBs this season for fantasy scoring.

Value Plays

Khalil Herbert, Chicago ($5,700)

Dameon Pierce, Houston ($5,600)

Herbert takes over as the lead RB with David Montgomery’s injury and has averaged 7.3 yards a carry. Pierce has become the primary ball carrier for the Texans, and Rex Burkhead rushed for almost 150 yards last year vs. the LA Chargers.

Cheap Play

Rashaad Penny, Seattle ($4,900): Penny has averaged 20.15 points the last three years on the road vs. a bottom 10 defense, according to Bob Lung’s Consistency Guide.

Wide receiver

Top play

Stefon Diggs, Buffalo ($8,400): It’s not very often where my top play is also the most expensive player in his grouping. And I’m doing it twice this week vs. that Baltimore secondary and the Bills are coming off a loss.

Value Plays

Tyler Lockett, Seattle ($5,900)

Romeo Doubs, Green Bay ($4,500)

Jahan Dotson, Washington ($4,300)

Zay Jones, Jacksonville ($4,200)

Richie James, NY Giants ($4,000)

Lockett has seen 22 targets the last two weeks and now faces Detroit’s bottom 10 defense vs. WRs. Doubs may have passed the litmus test for Aaron Rodgers’ trust – I foresee another big game. Dotson and the Commanders may be in pass mode most of their game vs. the Cowboys. Jones has 6 red zone targets this season and has massive upside if he plays. James may be the Giants No. 1 WR by default.

Tight End

Top play

Mark Andrews, Baltimore ($7,100): You can play Andrews in the flex with his usage so far this season (31 targets) as you are basically getting a discounted WR1.

Cheap Plays

David Njoku, Cleveland ($3,700)

Tyler Conklin, NY Jets ($3,600)

Njoku has seen an 18.2 percent target share this season, including a 35.7 percent target share in the red zone. Conklin (40.3 routes ran a game) should remain a primary target in the offense even with the quarterback change.
