Will avoiding most of the big game in Kansas City hurt me?
Oh the frustration!
Last week’s list of players were a great one for my Cash Core, but unfortunately, I picked the wrong combination for my Cash Core lineup.
The three snowflakes were enough to doom my low-end fire emoji performances by Tom Brady, Jeff Wilson Jr., Khalil Shakir and the Dallas DST. I finished the week with only 133.64 points.
Most of the cutlines in cash ranged from the low 150s up to the low 180s. So it was a tough week with a below average cash lineup to earn the green.

Onto this week’s top players!
Quarterback
Top play
Lamar Jackson, Baltimore ($8,100): I know I’m skipping over Josh Allen in the Bills’ mega-matchup vs. Kansas City, but Jackson will give the best upside without the ownership numbers of Allen.
Other QBs
Kyler Murray, Arizona ($7,300)
Geno Smith, Seattle ($5,700)
I know Murray has continued to underperform, but in the last three years, he has averaged 29.88 points on the road against a bottom 10 defense for fantasy QB scoring, according to Bob Lung’s Consistency Guide. Smith remains one of the hottest QBs in the league and the Seahawks are a home underdog in a game with a 50.5 over/under.
Running back
Top play
Saquon Barkley, NY Giants ($7,700): Barkley scored 19.6 points last week on just 16 touches and has been consistent all season with only one game less than last week’s points total.
Value plays
Alvin Kamara, New Orleans ($6,700)
Rhamondre Stevenson, New England ($6,000)
Devin Singletary, Buffalo ($5,900)
Breece Hall, NY Jets ($5,800)
Ken Walker III, Seattle ($5,400)
Darrell Henderson Jr., LA Rams ($5,100)
Buying up for a stud RB may not be needed this week with a deep group of value plays. Kamara should see some positive TD regression after last week’s robbery. Stevenson has the best matchup as the Browns gave up 238 yards rushing to the Chargers last week. Singletary is the perfect contrarian pick in a game that is expected to see plenty of offense. Hall’s touches have increase every week this season and he’s backing it up with production. Walker III receives his first NFL start and has shown flashes, including last week’s 69-yard TD run. Henderson Jr. has the Rams’ backfield to himself with Cam Akers dealing a personal matter.
Cheap play
Eno Benjamin, Arizona ($4,600): Benjamin will see a heavy workload as James Conners (ribs) and Darrel Williams (knee) both will miss Sunday’s matchup vs. the Seahawks.
Wide receiver
Top play
Stefon Diggs, Buffalo ($8,400): The Kansas City defense has struggled mightily vs. No. 1 WRs this season, and Diggs has seen 9 or more targets in four of five games this season.
Value plays
Tyler Lockett, Seattle ($5,600)
Chris Olave, New Orleans ($5,500)
George Pickens, Pittsburgh ($4,600)
Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Kansas City ($4,500)
Alec Pierce, Indianapolis ($4,300)
Rondall Moore, Arizona ($4,200)
Lockett’s catch rate is 80 percent this season and he should see plenty of targets again this week. Olave is second in the league in air yards, just behind Lockett (360-343). Pickens only needs to score 11.5 points to earn a fire emoji. MVS saw a season-high 8 targets last week. Pierce has been the Colts’ most consistent WR the last three weeks, averaging 12.4 points DraftKings points. Moore has one more week to excel before DeAndre Hopkins returns to the lineup.
Cheap play
Darius Slayton, NY Giants ($3,800): Slayton has played 60 and 54 percent of the snaps during the last two weeks and Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney are both out again for the Giants.
Tight end
Top play
Mark Andrews, Baltimore ($7,000): Travis Kelce will be highly owned, but Andrews averages 18.07 points over the last three years vs. average defenses on the road, according to the Consistency Guide.
Value play
Zach Ertz, Arizona ($4,900): Ertz is at his best on the road against bad defenses. The Seahawks rank last in the NFL at giving up fantasy points to TEs.
Cheap play
Zach Gentry, Pittsburgh ($2,600): The 6-foot-8 TE should see at least another 6 targets this week vs. Tampa Bay with Pat Freiermuth out because of a concussion.
