Chalk continues to dominate top lineups
Sooner or later the massive chalk is going to miss!
For another week, the highest rostered player (Miami’s Raheem Mostert) was a top scorer during the Main Slate. Mostert smashed Carolina for 37.2 points with three TDs and more than 100 yards rushing.
And it was another week where I avoided the big chalk and it hurt the pocketbook.
I finished with only 117.44 points in my cash game tournaments, of course missing the cash, while my best GPP lineup (159.18 points) was a Miami stack skinny stack of Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill with an Adam Thielen bring-back.

The spreadsheet continues to provide the right players (including the chalky ones), but I’ve been a little slow to adjust to this year’s winning ways. Check it out and stop missing out on a cheap monthly deal!
Onto My Top Plays for Week 7!
My Top Play
Quarterback
Sam Howell, Washington ($5,500): There are a couple of other QBs my spreadsheet likes ahead of Howell, but availability issues have me concerned to roll with them.
Howell has put up solid numbers the last three weeks, including 6 TD passes and 62 yards rushing. And faces the shaky NY Giants 27th-ranked defense, giving up 364.5 yards a game of total offense.
Other Cash QBs
Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City ($8,300)
Justin Herbert, LA Chargers ($8,000)
The two QBs playing in the highest total of the main slate makes sense, but they come with high prices. Mahomes has been sub-par by his standards, while I believe Herbert and the Chargers have a very good chance for the upset in a shootout.
Sneaky GPP QB
Jared Goff, Detroit ($6,400)
My Top Play
Running Back
Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas ($7,400): Jacobs may finally be able to pay off his workload vs. the Bears’ 28th ranked defense for fantasy points vs. RBs.
Jacobs, who will be one of the top rostered RBs on the Main Slate, has had 20 or more touches for four straight games but has only topped 20-plus points once during that stretch.
He’s due for a breakout game.
Other Cash RBs
Kenneth Walker III, Seattle ($7,000)
Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City ($6,100)
D’Onta Foreman, Chicago ($4,800)
Both Walker III and Pacheco are seeing the workload as RB1s despite concerns coming into the season. Walker III has had 17 or more rushing attempts in his last four games, while Pacheco continues to grow in the Chiefs passing game. Walker and Pacheco will be both be chalky. Foreman gives some salary relief at the spot and should see the majority of the touches in the Bears backfield vs. the Raiders’ 20th ranked defense for RB fantasy points.
Sneaky GPP RB
Jerome Ford, Cleveland ($5,100)
My Top Play
Wide Receiver
Drake London, Atlanta ($5,100): London has seen 6 or more targets since he was shutout in Week 1.
The recent strong play by Desmond Ridder has buoyed London’s recent play as well.
This week the Falcons face Tampa Bay’s 24th-ranked defense vs. WR fantasy scoring.
Other Cash WRs
Cooper Kupp, LA Rams ($9,500)
Stefon Diggs, Buffalo ($8,900)
Keenan Allen, LA Chargers ($8,600)
Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit ($8,000)
I know all four are in the Top 5 for WR prices for the Main Slate, but with an ugly 10-game slate, you are going to need one or two of them to secure your cash spot or GPP takedown. Kupp hasn’t missed a beat after coming of IR, while Diggs is quietly having a career year. Allen is also off to a possible career year, and St. Brown should be more involved in the offense with RB David Montgomery missing the game with a rib injury.
Sneaky GPP WR
Curtis Samuel, Washington ($4,000)
My Top Play
Tight End
Mark Andrews, Baltimore ($5,700): I believe Andrews is being quietly overlooked this week as he faces the fourth worse team vs. TE fantasy scoring.
The only other time Andrews has faced the Lions in his career, he had a 100-yard game. He’s a great pivot from the higher priced Travis Kelce.
Other Cash TEs
Darren Waller, NY Giants ($5,000)
Michael Mayer, Las Vegas ($2,700)
Sneaky GPP TE
Cole Kmet, Chicago ($4,200)
My Top Play
DST
Washington ($3,500): The Commanders’ defensive front should have its way vs. the Giants offensive line, which will be missing 3 starters.
Daniel Jones may or may not play for the Giants, but according to reports, he’s on the wrong side of questionable. This would leave veteran Tyrod Taylor testing Washington’s weak secondary. Taylor only threw for 200 yards on 36 attempts last week vs. Buffalo.
Other Cash DST
Green Bay ($3,700)
Tampa Bay ($3,600)
Sneaky GPP DST
Buffalo ($4,200)
