The right combination of players or plays is the key
The beauty of DFS is you can be one play or one player away from reaching the green or even having a big week.
I saw both of those scenarios play out with my Cash Core lineup last week.
It started with Mark Andrews being healthy and I went with Lamar Jackson as my QB. He failed to score a TD, running or passing, and finished with miserable 10.7 points. If I had started Joe Burrow and his 42.24 points, I would have hit the green in all of my cash tournaments.
Then there was the Jackson pass to Rashod Bateman who was stopped at the 1. That play would have saved half my cash tournaments.
Oh well, there’s always this week!
I finished 141.70 points last week and now I’m 3-4 with my cash lineup this season.
By the way for a Halloween special, anyone who has subscribed or subscribes before Sunday morning will receive my Cash Core lineup for free. Hopefully, it’s more of a Treat than a Trick.

Onto this week’s top players!
Quarterback
Top play
Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia ($8,300):ir Hurts and the Eagles return from their bye and face the bottom 10 pass defense of Pittsburgh. Proceed with caution because T.J. Watt may be back for the Steelers.
Other QBs
Kyler Murray, Arizona ($7,500)
Tua Tagovailoa, Miami ($6,200)
Kirk Cousins, Minnesota ($6,100)
Sam Ehlinger, Indianapolis ($4,000)
Murray and Cousins could be locked into a shootout like last year’s 34-33 Arizona shootout win. Tagovailoa faces a defense that is 28th in allowing QB DraftKings points. Ehlinger may be a steal as he rushed for more than 1,900 yards in college and added 33 rushing TDs.
Running back
Top play
Derrick Henry, Tennessee ($8,400): 224.3 is the only number you need to know about Henry this week vs. Houston. That is the average yards he has rushed for in the last three game against the Texans.
Value plays
Ken Walker III, Seattle ($6,500)
Tony Pollard, Dallas ($6,100)
D’Onta Foreman, Carolina ($5,300)
Walker III has rushed for 88 yards or more in three straight games and has added 4 TDs. Pollard finally gets the backfield to himself for at least one game and the Bears’ rush defense is dreadful. Foreman also gets the backfield to himself as well after going over the century mark last week.
Wide receiver
Tyreek Hill, Miami ($8,500): The Detroit defense hasn’t stopped anyone this season and Hill could be in line for another big outburst.
Value plays
Brandin Cooks, Houston ($5,900)
D.J. Moore, Carolina ($5,300)
Josh Reynolds, Detroit ($5,000)
Wan’Dale Robinson, NY Giants ($4,700)
Marquise Goodwin, Seattle ($4,400)
Cooks faces the 30th ranked defense vs. WRs, but he did pop up on the injury list (wrist) late Friday. Someone has to be the offensive playmaker in Carolina after the CMC trade and Moore produced last week. Reynolds is healthy and should see an uptick in targets if Amon-Ra St. Brown can’t go. It would be nice if the Giants gave Robinson a whole game workload. Goodwin is a nice fill-in if D.K. Metcalf is officially out.
Cheap plays
Tyquan Thornton, New England ($3,800): Thornton played on 44 of a possible 52 snaps in the Monday night loss and has had 5 targets in each of the last two games.
Tight end
Top play
George Kittle, San Francisco ($5,700): With Deebo Samuel (hamstring) out, Kittle becomes the No. 1 option in the passing game.
Value plays
T.J. Hockenson, Detroit ($4,900)
Tyler Higbee, LA Rams ($4,200)
Hockenson faces a Miami defense that is 25th against TE scoring, while Higbee has already had one big game against the 49ers.
Cheap plays
Irv Smith Jr., Minnesota ($3,500)
Noah Fant, Seattle ($2,800)
Smith Jr. gets to the face the Arizona secondary that has been awful covering TEs in recent seasons. Fant becomes a viable option if Metcalf sits.
DraftKings Cash Core
