DFS Week 9

Updated: Nov 7, 2021

Picking the right contest is key

Last week's DFS was a mixed bag of results.

I tried something new with my cash lineup last week, playing it in smaller single-entry fields ranging from 22-229 entries. The problem was I only cashed in half of the four entries.

The saying of finding the right contests held true last week.

My $5 (23-person field) and $3 (229) entries were successful, including my $5 contest where I slipped past DFS legend ChipotleAddict who finished 11th. I was ninth with my 147.22 points.

Now for my $10 and $25 single-entry double ups, I failed on both, just missing the cash line in the $10 124-person field. Top 54 were in the money and I finished in 56th place, 1.12 points away from cashing.

My 22-person $25 double-up had a stacked field. Moklovin, themasterson and youdacao were in it and shared first place with the same lineup for 160.92 points. I finished in 12th and again 1.12 points from cashing.

My biggest downfall in my cash lineup was taking Emmanuel Sanders over Cole Beasley. Beasley had a monster game of 24.0 points, while Sanders gave me a snowflake with a big fat ZERO.

I'm going back to playing the larger single-entry fields for cash. Lesson learned!

New week and new games, let’s get to this week’s top plays!

Quarterback

High

Josh Allen, Buffalo ($8,200): The Jaguars give up the 13th most fantasy points to QBs this season and even with a big lead, Allen is going to play most of the game.

Low

Jordan Love, Green Bay ($4,400): Personally, I will have him in maybe one lineup as I expect the Packers to use their RBs more in this game. But you can beat his price!

Running Back

High

Austin Ekeler, LA Chargers ($7,900): In a game with a high over/under (50) and a close spread (Chargers -1.5), Ekeler should eat against the Eagles’ DST, which gives up 21.2 points a week to RBs.

Low

Myles Gaskin, Miami ($5,800): Houston gives up the sixth most fantasy points to RBs and even if Tua Tagovailoa can’t play, Jacob Brissett doesn’t mind dumping off to his RBs.

Wide Receiver

High

Tyreek Hill, Kansas City ($7,900): With so many questions surrounding Davante Adams (QB play) and Deebo Samuel (injury), Hill is the safe play among the top three highest priced WRs on DraftKings.

Low

Nico Collins, Houston ($3,600): The Dolphins give up the fourth most fantasy points to WRs and the Texans get Tyrod Taylor back at QB.

Tight End

High

Mike Gesicki, Miami ($4,900): With DeVante Parker on short-term IR, Gesicki becomes the No. 1 option in the Dolphins receiving group. The Texans also give up sixth most fantasy points to TEs.

Low

Albert Okwuegbunam, Denver ($2,600): With Noah Fant on the Covid-19 list, Albert O. will be the Broncos lead TE, and if he can't play because of his knee, Eric Saubert ($2,500) becomes an easy pivot.

DraftKings Cash Core

Lamar Jackson, Ekeler, Marquise Brown, Okwuegbunam

Sneaky Stacks

Josh Allen, Emmanuel Sanders, Marvin Jones Jr.

Jalen Hurts, Austin Ekeler, Keenan Allen, Dallas Goedert

Myles Gaskin, Mike Gesicki, Nico Collins
