Forecast Week 5

AFC Championship Game rematch highlights schedule

Sometimes when picking NFL winners it is all about the trends.

Last week, I tried to buck a few of those trends and stayed the norm on a few others. However, the majority of those games were not in my favor.

Thanks to the Sunday and Monday night games, I was able to put up a respectable mark of 9-6 for the weekend games.

My Best Bets were fire (3-0) during the early games but came crashing down (0-2) in the late games, spoiling a possible highly profitable weekend.

My Survivor Picks continue to be on the winning side with another 2-1 week.

Onto this week’s games!

(Odds are based on BetMGM lines)

NY Jets at Atlanta (London) (Falcons -3, 45.5 over/under): This is the first of two London games during the next two weeks, and unfortunately for the Falcons, the timing is bad. Jets, 24-21

Miami at Tampa Bay (Buccaneers -10, 48): The Dolphins are starting to look like they did when they tanked the first half of 2019. Buccaneers, 34-17

Philadelphia at Carolina (Panthers -3, 46): This game is basically a pick’em, and I think Vegas got the line wrong. Eagles, 23-20

New Orleans at Washington (Saints -2.5, 43.5): Another game I believe oddsmakers got wrong. Football Team, 17-14

Tennessee at Jacksonville (Titans -4.5, 48.5): Both teams ignore playing defense, but the Titans have Derrick Henry. Titans, 30-27

Detroit at Minnesota (Vikings -10, 49.5): A 7-game winning streak explains why the Vikings are big favorites. Vikings, 33-20

Denver at Pittsburgh (Broncos -2, 39.5): Defenses will dominate this game. Steelers, 20-14

Green Bay at Cincinnati (Packers -3, 50.5): I expect a close game as both teams air it out. Packers, 30-28

New England at Houston (Patriots -8, 39.5): The Texans have won the last two games in this series. However, Deshaun Watson was the starting QB for Houston. Patriots, 28-13

Chicago at Las Vegas (Raiders -5.5, 45): Derek Carr and the Raiders should get back to their winning ways. Raiders, 24-21

Cleveland at LA Chargers (Chargers -2.5, 47): The Browns’ injuries will play a key role in this game. Chargers, 31-17

NY Giants at Dallas (Cowboys -7, 52): The Cowboys are much improved this year, but so are the Giants. Cowboys, 34-31

San Francisco at Arizona (Cardinals -5, 48.5): The Cardinals have a chance to start 2-0 within the talented-NFC West Division. Cardinals, 36-24

Buffalo at Kansas City (Chiefs -2.5, 56.5): I don’t expect much defense to be played in this game. Chiefs, 42-32

Indianapolis at Baltimore (Ravens -7, 46.5): This game has historically been low scoring – these two have combined for 39 points or less in their last 5 matchups. Ravens, 24-14

Last week: 9-6 (.600)

Thursday record: 4-1 (.800) LA Rams – win

Overall record: 41-23 (.640)

Survivor Picks: Tampa Bay, Minnesota and LA Chargers.

Survivor Picks last week record: 2-1 (.667)

Survivor Picks overall record: 9-3 (.750)

Best Bets: NY Jets +3, Washington +2.5, Denver-Pittsburgh under 39.5, LA Chargers -2.5 and NY Giants-Dallas over 52.

Best Bets last week record: 3-2 (.600)

Thursday’s Best Bets: 3-2 (.600) LA Rams-Seattle under 53.5 – win

Best Bets overall record: 12-12-1 (.500)
