NFL DFS Week 5

It's time to find our footing

It was another disappointing week for my cash lineup.

I just can seem to get the right combinations together to even squeeze into the green.

I finished with 127.72 points, missing the cash line by 10 points this past week.

Even my recommended plays were mostly stinkers last week and with 4 weeks under belts for the NFL season, it may become clearer of the right plays with more statistical data available.

Don’t forget to check out my spreadsheet, and you can use the sheet for prop bets as well.

My spreadsheet can be found on my Patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/fantasyfbguru

This year Patreon is allowing weekly trials. For $5 ($7.50 of IoS), you can check my spreadsheet on a weekly basis. And if you like, you can get the whole month for $15.

Onto this week’s Top Cash Plays:

My Top Play

Quarterback

Jordan Love, Green Bay ($6,500)

It’s not very often that the top play on my spreadsheet at a position is the also My Top Play of the week for cash.

Love has a juicy matchup vs. LA Rams pass defense.

The Rams gave up 288 passing yards in their lone home this season and has given up 226 passing yards a game in their last three.

Love returned last week from a sprained MCL and led a comeback that fell short as he passed 389 yards with 4 TDs and 3 interceptions.

Other Cash QB

Jayden Daniels, Washington ($6,800)

Daniels has been the darling of the NFL so far in his rookie season.

He leads in pass completion percentage at 82 percent and has 3 passing TDs and 4 rushing TDs.

The Browns defense has talent but are not performing at their 2023 levels.

Sneaky GPP QB

Deshaun Watson, Cleveland ($5,300)

My Top Play

Running Back

Derrick Henry, Baltimore ($7,800)

Until someone stops him, I’m playing Henry as my cash core RB for a while.

He has scored 6 total touchdowns in the first four games of the season and is averaging 120 rushing yards a game.

And once the Ravens get the lead, Lamar Jackson and Henry run the RPO read to perfection.

Other Cash RB

Jordan Mason, San Francisco ($7,400)

Mason continues to be too cheap for his workload.

He has rushed the ball at least 19 times in every game and has been unfortunate on several called back TDs during the season.

Now he faces an Arizona defense that has given up 152 rushing yards a game in its last three.

Sneaky GPP RB

James Cook, Buffalo ($7,000)

My Top Play

Wide Receiver

Jayden Reed, Green Bay ($6,500)

In two games with Love as his QB, Reed has averaged 138.5 receiving yards a game and scored both of his TDs.

Now they face the LA Rams in the comfy confines of SoFi Stadium. The Rams gave up 11 catches and 175 yards and 3 TDs to San Francisco’s Jauan Jennings in their only home game of the season.

Plus, the Packers like to get Reed involved in the running game with jet sweeps. Reed has 91 rushing yards this season.

Other Cash WR

Diontae Johnson, Carolina ($6,100)

Johnson has flourished since Andy Dalton took over as QB in Week 3.

Johnson has averaged 25.25 DraftKings points in Dalton’s two starts compared to 4.2 DK points in Bryce Young starts.

Diontae should continue to be the focal point of the passing game as Adam Thielen remains on IR.

Sneaky GPP WR

Amari Cooper, Cleveland ($6,200)

My Top Play

Tight End

Erick All Jr., Cincinnati ($2,700)

As bad as the TE position has been this season in fantasy and DFS, I’ll take my chances with a cheap All Jr.

He has seen 12 targets in the last three games and has hauled on 12 in for 82 yards.

Last week, he played the most snaps among the Bengals three-head TE group.

Other Cash TE

Tucker Kraft, Green Bay ($3,500)

Kraft is in the same boat as Love and Reed – a juicy matchup against the Rams secondary and a limited Green Bay receiver corps.

Kraft has become the No. 1 TE this season as he has played 67 percent or more in each game this season and Tucker Musgrave is injured again.

Sneaky GPP TE

Zach Ertz, Washington ($3,800)

Top DST

Chicago ($3,600) home against Carolina

New England ($2,900) home against Miami

Denver ($2,900) home against Las Vegas
