Could this week's wire pick-up be a league winner?
I hope you survived one of the weirdest weeks in recent NFL history.
The upsets and disappointing fantasy performances I’m sure has left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth.
Well, at least, it was only Week 9, and there are five more weeks left of the regular season with the new 17-game schedule.
Pickings seem slim on this week’s Waiver Wire Frenzy, but these weeks can be the ones that provide a late season spark to a playoff run for your team.
Let’s dive into this week’s list of players.
Quarterback
Mac Jones, New England (30 percent Yahoo! Sports & 14 percent ESPN)
His solid play leads to be a great back-up down the stretch.
Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh (27 percent Yahoo! Sports & 17 percent ESPN)
He has thrown a TD in every game this season.
Teddy Bridgewater, Denver (26 percent Yahoo! Sports & 25 percent ESPN)
Has thrown 9 TDs in his last five games.
Running back
Eno Benjamin, Arizona (0 percent Yahoo! Sports & 0 percent ESPN)
Jonathan Ward, Arizona (0 percent Yahoo! Sports & 0 percent ESPN)
With Chase Edmonds out 4-to-6 weeks and James Conner’s injury history, one of these two could be a league winner down the stretch.
Jordan Howard, Philadelphia (14 percent Yahoo! Sports & 9 percent ESPN)
I think his success will be short lived when Miles Sanders returns from the IR.
Ty Johnson, NY Jets (13 percent Yahoo! Sports & 21 percent ESPN)
Has paired with Michael Carter to give Jets nice 1-2 punch at RB.
D’Onta Foreman, Tennessee (1 percent Yahoo! Sports & 1 percent ESPN)
Looked better than Adrian Peterson last week.
Wide receiver
Rashod Bateman, Baltimore (36 percent Yahoo! Sports & 25 percent ESPN)
I don’t understand the low numbers of being rostered – he’s a solid flex the rest of the season.
Elijah Moore, NY Jets (27 percent Yahoo! Sports & 15 percent ESPN)
Great recent stats but will he be involved when Corey Davis returns from injury?
Van Jefferson, LA Rams (43 percent Yahoo! Sports & 43 percent ESPN)
Has a consistent No. 3 role in potent offense.
Tim Patrick, Denver (25 percent Yahoo! Sports & 24 percent ESPN)
Even with Jerry Jeudy’s return, he continues to play a high percentage of snaps.
Deonte Harris, New Orleans (15 percent Yahoo! Sports & 2 percent ESPN)
The Saints top receiver the last two weeks but has some legal issues (suspension?).
Allen Lazard, Green Bay (7 percent Yahoo! Sports & 9 percent ESPN)
Could pair with Davante Adams for a big run down the stretch?
Tight end
Dan Arnold, Jacksonville (27 percent Yahoo! Sports & 17 percent ESPN)
Has 17 targets over his last two games.
Evan Engram, NY Giants (40 percent Yahoo! Sports & 27 percent ESPN)
Until the other receiving assets get healthy, Engram will get targets.
Donald Parham Jr., LA Chargers (1 percent Yahoo! Sports & 0 percent ESPN)
He’s a TD or bust TE playing on a good offense.
