Waiver Wire Frenzy Week 14

Updated: Dec 14, 2021

Still quality pick-ups remaining on most waiver wires

It’s the final week of the fantasy football regular season, and hopefully you didn’t blow all your FAAB already!

With the weird bye week schedule this year in the NFL, team managers still may be scrambling to fill starting spots.

And this late in the season there are some quality pick-ups this week in the Waiver Wire Frenzy.

Onto the players!

Quarterback

Taysom Hill, New Orleans (34 percent Yahoo! Sports & 36 percent on ESPN)

Hill’s rushing upside can boost any shortcomings he has with his injured finger.

Taylor Heinicke, Washington (39 percent Yahoo! Sports & 30 percent ESPN)

Teddy Bridgewater, Denver (23 percent Yahoo! Sports & 19 percent ESPN)

These two have been a mainstay on the Waiver Wire Frenzy – pick them up because they are quality back-ups for the playoffs.

Running back

Rashaad Penny, Seattle (6 percent Yahoo! Sports & 2 percent ESPN)

This may be Penny’s last chance to prove his first-round draft equity.

JaMycal Hasty, San Francisco (1 percent Yahoo! Sports & 1 percent ESPN)

Hasty may be the survivor of the healthiest in the 49ers backfield.

Rex Burkhead, Houston (22 percent Yahoo! Sports & 32 percent ESPN)

Burkhead may have the backfield to himself finally.

Jordan Howard, Philadelphia (11 percent Yahoo! Sports & 11 percent ESPN)

Kenneth Gainwell, Philadelphia (12 percent Yahoo! Sports & 11 percent ESPN)

With the Eagles’ bye week, this may be a chance to get them cheap.

Wide Receiver

K.J. Osborn, Minnesota (4 percent Yahoo! Sports & 4 percent ESPN)

Osborn steps into a possible high-volume role for the fantasy playoffs.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Green Bay (21 percent Yahoo! Sports & 9 percent ESPN)

If MVS has a better catch percentage he wouldn’t even be on this list.

Russell Gage, Atlanta (35 percent Yahoo! Sports & 25 percent ESPN)

Some have questioned why Gage was on the list a couple weeks ago. Now I question why he's rostered so low after his recent production.

Josh Reynolds, Detroit (4 percent Yahoo! Sports & 3 percent ESPN)

Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit (6 percent Yahoo! Sports & 7 percent ESPN)

Game script will keep these two Lions WR viable as WR3/flex starts in deeper leagues.

Marquez Callaway, New Orleans (27 percent Yahoo! Sports & 34 percent ESPN)

Callaway’s role should expand with the recent suspension of Deonte Harris.

Tight End

Tyler Conklin, Minnesota (30 percent Yahoo! Sports & 34 percent ESPN)

Another name that shouldn’t be on this list.

Cole Kmet, Chicago (26 percent Yahoo! Sports & 14 percent ESPN)

Kmet’s biggest concern is Jimmy Graham getting red zone targets.
