Still not too late to pick up Penny or Osborn
Hopefully, you took advantage for the Waiver Wire Frenzy last week.
Three of the top four pick-ups produced startable numbers for your fantasy teams and could be key parts of a deep playoff run for your team.
K.J. Osborn, Taysom Hill and Rashaad Penny were in that top four and each of them scored at least 17 points last week.
Even though it is the first week of the fantasy playoffs, there are still plenty of good players who should be on the roster as a key starter or back-up role.
Onto the players!
Quarterback
Tua Tagovailoa, Miami (33 percent Yahoo! Sports & 38 percent ESPN)
Tua and the Dolphins have a nice schedule for the fantasy playoffs.
Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh (22 percent Yahoo! Sports & 18 percent ESPN)
Big Ben can’t scramble or avoid pressure like he used to but give him some time and he can still find the open receiver.
Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco (30 percent Yahoo! Sports & 14 percent ESPN)
Jimmy G. is a strong part to this group of pick-ups as QB2 in superflex or back-up role in the playoffs.
Justin Fields, Chicago (19 percent Yahoo! Sports & 16 percent ESPN)
Fields is more a dynasty stash at this point.
Tyler Huntley, Baltimore (1 percent Yahoo! Sports & 0 percent ESPN)
He is a serviceable back up if Lamar Jackson misses time with an injury.
Running back
Rashaad Penny, Seattle (22 percent Yahoo! Sports & 9 percent ESPN)
He may cost you the rest of your FAAB if you didn’t get him cheap last week.
Craig Reynolds, Detroit (1 percent Yahoo! Sports & 1 percent ESPN)
Reynolds was the surprise lead ball carrier for the Lions last week.
D’Ernest Johnson, Cleveland (13 percent Yahoo! Sports & 22 percent ESPN)
Johnson bounces back into the fray with Kareem Hunt’s injury.
Boston Scott, Philadelphia (22 percent Yahoo! Sports & 18 percent ESPN)
Jordan Howard, Philadelphia (8 percent Yahoo! Sports & 8 percent ESPN)
One of these two will be the lead carrier if Miles Sanders is out.
Wide Receiver
K.J. Osborn, Minnesota (38 percent Yahoo! Sports & 27 percent ESPN)
See Rashaad Penny above!
Laquon Treadwell, Jacksonville (1 percent Yahoo! Sports & 1 percent ESPN)
Has seen 19 targets in his last three games.
Rashod Bateman, Baltimore (36 percent Yahoo! Sports & 24 percent ESPN)
With Huntley at QB, maybe Bateman gets a bump in targets.
Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit (12 percent Yahoo! Sports & 11 percent ESPN)
Has seen 24 targets in the last two games.
Allen Lazard, Green Bay (4 percent Yahoo! Sports & 4 percent ESPN)
With no Randall Cobb, Lazard should be the No. 2 WR target in the Pack’s passing game.
Gabriel Davis, Buffalo (3 percent Yahoo! Sports & 3 percent ESPN)
Davis should continue to see more playing with Emmanuel Sanders injured.
Tight End
Gerald Everett, Seattle (31 percent Yahoo! Sports & 14 percent ESPN)
Has seen 17 targets and scored two TDs in the past three games.
David Njoku, Cleveland (5 percent Yahoo! Sports & 4 percent ESPN)
With Austin Hooper on the covid list, Njoku may see an increased role if he returns.
