Waiver Wire Frenzy Week 16

Several good options remain to use during the fantasy playoffs

It was survival of the crazy in the first round of the fantasy football playoffs last week.

Hopefully, your team was able to overcome covid, injuries or poor performances to advance in your playoffs. My playoff season is down to one as Cooper Kupp and Chris Boswell combined for more than 50 percent of my scoring in one of my charity leagues to advance.

My top picks did not have as good of a week as Week 14, but there were solid plays in my lists. Gabriel Davis and Amon-Ra St. Brown proved to be good waiver wire finds.

Onto this week’s players!

Quarterback

Tyler Huntley, Baltimore (26 percent Yahoo! Sports & 26 percent ESPN)

If Lamar Jackson continues to miss because of injury, Huntley appears to be plug and play guy.

Justin Fields, Chicago (5 percent Yahoo! Sports & 5 percent ESPN)

Fields is a solid No. 2 in superflex leagues or a stash for next season.

Running Back

Ronald Jones II, Tampa Bay (36 percent Yahoo! Sports & 23 percent ESPN)

With Leonard Fournette out for the rest of the regular season, Jones II steps into a prime RB role.

Craig Reynolds, Detroit (13 percent Yahoo! Sports & 8 percent ESPN)

Even with Jamaal Williams back, Reynolds may have carved himself out a role.

Justin Jackson, LA Chargers (6 percent Yahoo! Sports & 3 percent ESPN)

If Austin Ekeler remains out on covid protocols, Jackson will have a big role in the offense.

Samaje Perine, Cincinnati (13 percent Yahoo! Sports & 9 percent ESPN)

Perine is a solid back-up to have if Joe Mixon misses time.

Duke Johnson Jr., Miami (2 percent Yahoo! Sports & 1 percent ESPN)

I don’t have much faith in the Miami coaching staff with this backfield, but Duke is a flier.

Wide Receiver

Gabriel Davis, Buffalo (19 percent Yahoo! Sports & 13 percent ESPN)

His talent is proving to be too valuable to keep off the field.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit (30 percent Yahoo! Sports & 24 percent ESPN)

Brown is the No. 1 WR in the Lions’ surprising offensive surge.

Laquon Treadwell, Jacksonville (2 percent Yahoo! Sports & 1 percent ESPN)

Consistent numbers make Treadwell a great fill-in.

Tyler Johnson, Tampa Bay (1 percent Yahoo! Sports & 1 percent ESPN)

Scotty Miller, Tampa Bay (0 percent Yahoo! Sports & 0 percent ESPN)

Breshad Perriman, Tampa Bay (0 percent Yahoo! Sports & 0 percent ESPN)

One of these three will play a big role down the stretch for the Buccaneers.

Allen Lazard, Green Bay (9 percent Yahoo! Sports & 12 percent ESPN)

Injuries and covid issues to other Green Bay WRs make Lazard a Top 10 pick up this week.

Tight End

Cole Kmet, Chicago (25 percent Yahoo! Sports & 23 percent ESPN)

Has proven to be a prime target for Fields.

Ricky Seals-Jones, Washington (16 percent Yahoo! Sports & 12 percent ESPN)

The Football Team continues to feature the TE in their passing game.

James O’Shaughnessy, Jacksonville (2 percent Yahoo! Sports & 1 percent ESPN)

A vital part of the Jaguars’ passing game.
