Waiver Wire Frenzy Week 4

Chicago's Herbert will be the top add on a busy waiver wire week

The NFL Week 3 gave us a plethora of options for my Waiver Wire Frenzy.

The injury bug hit several teams, giving opportunities to some key backups for the upcoming weeks and possibly beyond.

Injuries to New England quarterback Mac Jones and Chicago running back David Montgomery have opened the door.

Now let’s get those pick-up options!

(Waiver wire options are based on Yahoo! Sports and ESPN player with less than 50 percent of ownership.)

Quarterback

Brian Hoyer, New England (0 percent Yahoo! & 0 percent ESPN)

Hoyer should fill in nicely as Jones recovers from a high ankle sprain.

Marcus Mariota, Atlanta (22 percent Yahoo! & 29 percent ESPN)

It is still hard to believe he is still on less than 30 percent of rosters in Yahoo! and ESPN.

Jared Goff, Detroit (45 percent Yahoo! & 31 percent ESPN)

Goff has 7 TD passes in three games – he’s a solid No. 2 or backup.

Stash Can: Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh

Running back

Khalil Herbert, Chicago (49 percent Yahoo! & 25 percent ESPN)

I told you two weeks ago to grab him – some were not listening!

Eno Benjamin, Arizona (12 percent Yahoo! & 8 percent ESPN)

Benjamin received the back-up work behind James Conner last week.

Craig Reynolds, Detroit (0 percent Yahoo! & 0 percent ESPN)

Reynolds is one injury away from being the starting RB for the Lions.

Stash Can: Jaylen Warren, Pittsburgh

Wide receiver

Romeo Doubs, Green Bay (26 percent Yahoo! & 16 percent ESPN)

Doubs probably earned Aaron Rodgers’ trust after his 8-catch, 73-yard and 1-touchdown performance.

Zay Jones, Jacksonville (11 percent Yahoo! & 9 percent ESPN)

Jones is tied for sixth with 6 red zone targets. Those numbers are top waiver wire material.

Mack Hollins, Las Vegas (40 percent Yahoo! & 39 percent ESPN)

Hollins has received 18 targets in his last two games.

Greg Dortch, Arizona (18 percent Yahoo! & 7 percent ESPN)

Dortch continues to shine in place of the injured Rondale Moore.

Stash can: George Pickens, Pittsburgh

Tight end

Tyler Conklin, NY Jets (21 percent Yahoo! & 12 percent ESPN)

Conklin has been a target monster (24) for Joe Flacco.

Robert Tonyan, Green Bay (29 percent Yahoo! & 16 percent ESPN)

Tonyan looks to be rounding back into his 2020 form.

Cameron Brate, Tampa Bay (4 percent Yahoo! & 1 percent ESPN)

Brate snagged five catches last week.

Stash can: Daniel Bellinger, NY Giants
