The list is long and has plenty of great pick-ups
As I posted on Twitter earlier today – this week’s Waiver Wire Frenzy is going to be a long one.
Injuries and several players returning from injuries along with some players getting quality usage in their offenses will make this the most I’ve written on needed pick-ups since I started writing the Frenzy.
Well, let’s dive into this week’s list of players!
Quarterback
Trey Lance, San Francisco (31 percent Yahoo! Sports & 19 percent ESPN)
If Jimmy G. can’t go this week, the rookie will make his first NFL start.
Daniel Jones, NY Giants (31 percent Yahoo! Sports & 33 percent ESPN)
Jones continues to put up great stats while limiting his turnovers.
Taylor Heinicke, Washington (10 percent Yahoo! Sports & 10 percent ESPN)
Has accounted for 3 touchdowns in 2 straight games.
Running Back
Damien Williams, Chicago (9 percent Yahoo! Sports & 10 percent ESPN)
Should be the Bears No. 1 RB for the next month.
Samaje Perine, Cincinnati (3 percent Yahoo! Sports & 2 percent ESPN)
Chris Evans, Cincinnati (1 percent Yahoo! Sports & 1 percent ESPN)
These two should split the Bengals’ RB duties if Joe Mixon (ankle) misses time.
Kenneth Gainwell, Philadelphia (29 percent Yahoo! Sports & 25 percent ESPN)
The rookie continues to receive quality touches near the goal line and in the passing game.
Darrel Williams, Kansas City (10 percent Yahoo! Sports & 6 percent ESPN)
Has received 9 and 12 touches the last two weeks in the Chiefs’ powerful offense.
Wide Receiver
Darnell Mooney, Chicago (38 percent Yahoo! Sports & 41 percent ESPN)
Had his best game (5-125) of the season last week.
Hunter Renfrow, Las Vegas (27 percent Yahoo! Sports & 42 percent ESPN)
Continues to be in the No. 2 target in the league’s second-best passing team.
Jamison Crowder, NY Jets (20 percent Yahoo! Sports & 15 ESPN)
Received 9 targets in return to lineup.
Rashod Bateman, Baltimore (25 percent Yahoo! Sports & 13 percent ESPN)
First-round pick expected to make season debut.
A.J. Green, Arizona (24 percent Yahoo! Sports & 22 percent ESPN)
The veteran continues to be a red zone target for Kyler Murray.
Kadarius Toney, NY Giants (3 percent Yahoo! Sports & 3 percent ESPN)
The rookie had 9 targets in last week’s start.
Josh Gordon, Kansas City (32 percent Yahoo! Sports & 19 percent ESPN)
He’s worth a flier only. Too many have been burned by past comebacks.
Randall Cobb, Green Bay (7 percent Yahoo! Sports & 14 percent ESPN)
When he played for the Packers in the past, his hot steaks would last a few weeks.
Josh Reynolds, Tennessee (0 percent Yahoo! Sports & 0 percent ESPN)
Will be the primary target again if A.J. Brown & Julio Jones continue to miss.
Tight End
Dawson Knox, Buffalo (47 percent Yahoo! Sports & 20 percent ESPN)
Finally getting some respect as the rostered numbers grow.
Maxx Williams, Arizona (1 percent Yahoo! Sports & 3 percent ESPN)
Just a part of the deep receiving corps for Cardinals.
C.J. Uzomah, Cincinnati (2 percent Yahoo! Sports & 1 percent ESPN)
Should continue to see targets with Tee Higgins out of the lineup.
Hunter Henry, New England (42 percent Yahoo! Sports & 36 percent ESPN)
Part of the Pats’ talented-TE duo.
Mo Alie-Cox, Indianapolis (1 percent Yahoo! Sports & 0 percent ESPN)
Has earned Carson Wentz trust in the red zone.
