Waiver Wire Frenzy Week 6

Walker III sprints to the top of the waiver wire

The big injury of the week is going make several fantasy football managers max out on their FAAB bids.

Seattle’s Rashaad Penny fractured his fibula and it requires surgery. It is a four-month recovery time, forcing Penny to miss the rest of the season.

This pushes Ken Walker III (46 percent Yahoo! Sports & 48 percent ESPN) to forefront of this week’s Waiver Wire Frenzy. It will require team managers to almost deplete their FAAB in competitive leagues, but Walker may be able to come cheap in others.

Onto to the rest of the Waiver Wire Frenzy list!

(Waiver wire options are based on Yahoo! Sports and ESPN player with less than 50 percent of ownership.)

Quarterback

Geno Smith, Seattle (36 percent Yahoo! & 33 percent ESPN)

One of the hottest QBs in the league right now.

Jimmy Garropolo, San Francisco (26 percent Yahoo! & 11 percent ESPN)

There’s nothing flashy about Jimmy G. but he’s an adequate bye week fill-in.

Jameis Winston, New Orleans (32 percent Yahoo! & 20 percent ESPN)

In a look ahead, the Saints face Atlanta and Cleveland in the first two weeks of the fantasy playoffs.

STASH CAN: Desmond Ridder, Atlanta (1 percent Yahoo! & 1 percent ESPN)

Running back

Eno Benjamin, Arizona (11 percent Yahoo! & 7 percent ESPN)

If James Conner and Darrel Williams are both out, Benjamin inherits a big workload.

Mike Boone, Denver (36 percent Yahoo! & 27 percent ESPN)

Boone is one Melvin Gordon III fumble away from having the backfield to himself.

Tevin Coleman, San Francisco (0 percent Yahoo! & 0 percent ESPN)

A two-TD performance catches the eye.

STASH CAN: Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City (36 percent Yahoo! & 18 percent ESPN)

Wide receiver

Alec Pierce, Indianapolis (9 percent Yahoo! & 9 percent ESPN)

He’s healthy and receiving plenty of targets.

Rondale Moore, Arizona (18 percent Yahoo! & 20 percent ESPN)

Moore has seen 13 targets in two games since returning from injury.

Darius Slayton, NY Giants (0 percent Yahoo! & 0 percent ESPN)

He has played at least 50 percent of snaps in his last two games.

STASH CAN: Skyy Moore, Kansas City (12 percent Yahoo! & 29 percent ESPN)

Tight end

Hayden Hurst, Cincinnati (30 percent Yahoo! & 25 percent ESPN)

He has seen 7 or more targets in three out of five games.

Taysom Hill, New Orleans (31 percent Yahoo! & 12 percent ESPN)

He’s a boom or bust guy but worth the start in the TE spot.

Evan Engram, Jacksonville (24 percent Yahoo! & 20 percent ESPN)

He has played at least 69 percent of snaps in every game this season.

STASH CAN: Cade Otton, Tampa Bay (2 percent Yahoo! & 2 percent ESPN)
