Waiver Wire Frenzy Week 9

Colts' Jackson is the biggest winner after the trade deadline

The trade deadline has passed and the shake-up of teams has little effects to this week’s Waiver Wire Frenzy.

The only trade that did have an impact is Nyheim Hines getting sent to Buffalo from Indianapolis. This opens the door for Deon Jackson (8 percent Yahoo! Sports & 9 percent ESPN) for significant playing time – and maybe even more if Jonathan Taylor’s ankle injury puts him the shelf again.

There still remains a large group of players who can fill key roles on your teams for the stretch run. So don’t overlook them with the first of the two bye-ageddons happening this week.

Onto this week’s players!

(Waiver wire options are based on Yahoo! Sports and ESPN player with less than 50 percent of ownership.)

Quarterback

Justin Fields, Chicago (42 percent Yahoo! & 22 percent ESPN)

Fields appears to be getting comfortable with the Bears’ new offense.

Taylor Heinicke, Washington (7 percent Yahoo! & 9 percent ESPN)

He’s accounted for two TDs in each of his two starts.

Marcus Mariota, Atlanta (26 percent Yahoo! & 24 percent ESPN)

A solid No. 2 in superflex or a bye week starter.

Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco (49 percent Yahoo! & 22 percent ESPN)

See Mariota!

STASH CAN: Deshaun Watson, Cleveland (22 percent Yahoo! & 18 percent ESPN)

Running back

Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City (34 percent Yahoo! & 24 percent ESPN)

The Chiefs didn’t make a big RB splash in free agency – maybe the Pacheco era begins this week.

Rachaad White, Tampa Bay (30 percent Yahoo! & 21 percent ESPN)

He touched the ball 7 times despite a 26 percent snap share.

STASH CAN: Kyren Williams, LA Rams (45 percent Yahoo! & 14 percent ESPN)

Wide receiver

Romeo Doubs, Green Bay (47 percent Yahoo! & 47 percent ESPN)

Doubs is the Packers’ No. 1 WR with all the injuries.

Rondale Moore, Arizona (35 percent Yahoo! & 46 percent ESPN)

The Cardinals’ targets are centralized to three players, and Moore is one of them.

Josh Palmer, LA Chargers (26 percent Yahoo! & 25 percent ESPN)

Palmer can fill a big role if he can stay healthy himself.

STASH CAN: Jameson Williams, Detroit (25 percent Yahoo! & 20 percent ESPN)

Tight end

Greg Dulcich, Denver (42 percent Yahoo! & 34 percent ESPN)

Evan Engram, Jacksonville (43 percent Yahoo! & 32 percent ESPN)

Both of these tight ends are so grossly under-rostered.

Tyler Conklin, NY Jets (12 percent Yahoo! & 16 percent ESPN)

With some injuries, Conklin is back in the mix.

STASH CAN: Isaiah Likely, Baltimore (5 percent Yahoo! & 2 percent ESPN)
